Hello and Welcome to my blog!
I invite you to follow me on my journey as I begin to blog my adventures, creations, mistakes and accomplishments while I grow by jewelry business.
I began my journey into jewelry making about 4-1/2 years ago. I never could seem to find exactly what I was looking for in the stores when it came to jewelry so I decided to start making my own. I have always had a crafty creative side and the jewelry making world fascinated me. A good friend of mine was already making her own jewelry, so I asked her to give me a beginners course. I visited some of the craft stores in my area, purchased some starter kits and random beads and began making jewelry. At first it was just simple designs by stringing beads and making necklaces, bracelets & earrings. Here are a couple of my first creations:
After a about 6 months of using the basic stringing style, I searched YouTube for other ways to express my creativity in my jewelry making and I ventured into bead-weaving and started creating jewelry pieces like these bracelets:
However, I still wasn’t satisfied. That creative bug was still itching.…and then I found this quirky, fun, woman name Brenda Sue Landsdowne and her B’sue Boutiques tutorials using mix media on YouTube while I was searching for different jewelry making ideas. She had some crazy ideas and it was exactly what I was looking for! The first video I watched was embellishing keys. I was hooked! I binged watched all the videos I could cram in my free time!
My style has evolved over the years as I became more adventurous and tried different techniques. I now work with metals, like brass and copper and I make assemblage pieces that I never dreamed of being able to create when I started my journey in to jewelry making and I continue to learn new techniques. Here are a few of my recent creations:
The B’sue Boutique group is an absolutely awesome blend of artisans, crafters, newbies and the highly experienced and everyone in-between. The support we give each other is amazing at the B’sue Boutiques Facebook Group . I can’t imagine my jewelry making journey without this wonderful group of individuals!
